The Diocesan Sexual Misconduct Policy sets forth standards to ensure the safety
of those in our care. These standards include annual training for all volunteers
who have regular contact with children and/or vulnerable adults, all priests,
deacons, seminarians, parish and school employees, diocesan employees, and
members of religious orders working within the diocese and all children enrolled
in a diocesan school or religious education program.
Below is the list of safe environment training programs that Bishop Paul Swain
has approved for the 2009-2010 year. Locations may choose which program best meets their needs, or they can use a combination
of programs to complete the training process. Locations will continue to be required to track and report which programs
were used to train employees, volunteers and children at their site(s). It is
strongly encouraged that safe environment training be completed at each location
in the fall of each year. Documentation of training will be due to the diocese by March 1, 2010.
