2022 Summer Missionary Hello! My name is Matthew and I hail from Holy Spirit Parish in Sioux Falls, SD. I just finished my second of three years at St. John Vianney College Seminary where I study Philosophy at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. I formerly attended SDSU (Go Jacks!) where I studied Civil Engineering and learned the art of toilet paper fort building. Matthew is serving parishes across the diocese with his teammates, Micah Impecoven, Grace Johanson and Maria Dvoracek. 

2022 Summer Missionary I'm Elaina and I am from Sioux Falls, SD and I just finished my Freshman year at the University of Mary, #hooksup #bleedblue #driporange. I am studying Psychology and Catholic Studies. I am returning for my second year as a Lumen Christi missionary, and I am so excited to get to know you! I may seem intimidating, but it's really just me seeing if you're up to challenge me in a game. Who's up for the challenge? Elaina is serving parishes across the diocese with her teammates Addy Gilbert, Caleb Honner and Diocesan seminarian, Isaac Smith.

2021 Summer Missionary My name is Brendan Logan. I am 25 years old, and I hail from the city of Sioux Falls. I graduated from O’Gorman in 2015 and after that I went to Mitchell Tech for welding and manufacturing. In 2020 I became a seminarian for the Diocese of Sioux Falls. I am currently studying Philosophy and Psychology at St. Mary’s University at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary. I became a Lumen Christi Missionary because I experienced God’s love in my own life and I wanted to help other young people experience God’s love for them. Brendan served parishes across the diocese as the leader for team Sts. Gianno Molla & Jose Maria Escriva with Matthew Harris, Marie Moriarty, and Elaina Lubeck.

2021 Summer Missionary My name is Christian Howlett, I’m from Stillwater, MN, and I am 18 years old. I just finished my first year of studies at the Saint John Vianney Seminary in St. Paul, and will continue discerning the call to priesthood there this next fall. I became a Lumen Christi missionary because I knew it was God’s will for my Summer. I enjoy teaching, and I wanted to practice obedience since my diocese requested that I do Lumen Christi at some point in Seminary. Christian served parishes across the Diocese on team Sts. Therese of Lisieux & Thomas Aquinas with Cole Hardie, Elizabeth Meert, and Maddie Mingo.

SIerra Allen Program Coordinator My story I grew up in a non Christian household in Belle Fourche, SD. Through the Catholic witness of a devout family in my hometown and many years of prayer and discernment, I was received into the Catholic Church when I was 19 years old. Since then, God has led me on an adventure to grow in deeper trust and reliance in His Fatherly will and I want to help others recognize the adventure that God is placing before them as well.
