Hello from Team 1! This week was spent in DeSmet, SD, and it was such a blast! We had so much fun getting to know and be a part of the wonderful community! There were so many good God moments that happened this week, which I am so thankful for. Especially coming off of back-to-back D Camps, where you get no sleep and sing Bessie the heifer at least twice a day, it was great to be at such an awesome parish with a beautiful community. One reason that this week was great was getting to be with kids who were actively seeking a relationship with the Lord. They were so joyful, excited, and curious that it made it extra fun to be there and serve the community of DeSmet.…

D-Camp!! We love D-Camp, yes we do! We love D-Camp, how ‘bout you?! Personally I love D-Camp, or Discipleship Camp, so much! We have so many different ways to see and feel the Lord work during camp, and He takes every opportunity to do so! Especially throughout the things you wouldn’t think He would! Like during a rock paper scissors relay race while wearing costumes and holding a balloon between your and your friend's back, or while you’re up way too late with all of the kids buzzing about everything that happened that day, you might want to sleep, but it is great to see the community grow deeper as camp progresses. It was amazing to see the progression in all of the junior high kids especially, because most of…

Happy Week 4 from Team 1!  This week we were at St Mary’s and Christ the King in Sioux Falls! It was so much fun being in a pastorate with so many kiddos who had so much knowledge about the faith! It was a privilege to get to work with and to grow in community with these kids who were so excited to learn about the Lord and want to grow closer to Him. We had the opportunity in our morning program (1st-6th graders) to bring the kiddos to adoration on Wednesday. We only went into the chapel for about 10 minutes so nobody got too stir-crazy, but we gave them the choice to stay there longer than that. That was ok. Everyone left after the 10-minute mark except for…

First high school D-Camp of the summer!  This week was such a beautiful gift! Getting to spend time with all of the Campers during games, small groups, talks, and meals was such a blessing!  It Was amazing during Adoration to get to witness all of the unique ways God impacted each and every person that was a part of the camp, whether that was teens singing their heart out, tears welling up as they encountered God’s personal love, or the joy on their faces. It was such a blessing to see God transform the hearts of high schoolers when they were brave and vulnerable enough to get prayed over by the prayer teams and go to confession with tears streaming down their face when they encountered the Lord. Just really…

Happy week 2 from Team 1! We spent the week down in Elk Point, SD! There were 48 kids that came to the morning program and 29 that came to the evening program! It was so much fun to get to know, teach, and play games with all those kiddos! One of the more fun moments I can remember from the evening program was playing Pterodactyl, which is a game where, if you show your teeth while laughing, squawking, and/or saying Pterodactyl you’re out! The last night, (as shown in 2 of the pictures) of the evening program we had our fun night where we had games of wiffleball and volleyball, some trampoline jumping, and some trial and error with roasting different candies around the campfire! The picture of the…

This is team 1! We’ve had a great first week! We had so much fun getting to interact with so many cool kiddos and families that come to the programs and host us for meals! It is such a blessing to be able to impact this many lives!! The different pictures are of us at the morning program with elementary age kids praying a living rosary, the evening program with middle and high school kids around a firepit on the last day, also them listening to one of Jeremiah’s talks on having a heart to heart conversation with the Lord, and last of us missionaries praying night prayer on the Holy Cross playground. It was a bit of a learning curve to find out what worked well and what didn’t…
