Fun at Saint Joseph’s
To start the week we arrived in Wessington Springs and met the amazing DRE here at St. Joseph’s. We got a tour of the parish and met our awesome host families. On Sunday we spoke at Mass and gave everyone an idea of what Lumen Christi is all about.
Sunday night we got to meet the High School group for our first Lumen Christi evening program. We had a great group of young people! We all had fun giving talks and testimonies throughout the week that were all focussed on prayer. Monday started our day program with lots of smiles and laughs. We played many games, had classes on prayer, and prayed with different scripture passages throughout the week. The kids had a lot of fun and got to end the week with a water fight in the rain!
We were blessed in many ways this week. We got to meet many families in town as they provided us with delicious meals! Our host families were amazing and went above and beyond to help us in every way possible. We talked to a lot of members of the parish as well at the potluck on Wednesday. It was a huge grace for us to hear from parents about what their children had been learning and telling them throughout the week. We had one mom come up to us, excited, as she told us how her daughter came home and asked for a bible to pray with. She also asked if she could highlight it and take notes. It is a gift to see our presence in this parish produce fruit in those that we have encountered this week!
