Team Two had the best time in Dante! God was so present in this small community. There wasn’t a moment where we did not feel loved and welcomed.
The night program began on Sunday and we were pleasantly surprised with a large amount of young men in attendance and a few girls. They brought so much energy to our nights, it was hard to keep up! Although rambunctious, they had a fire for their faith and a clear desire to receive the sacraments. Almost every student went to confession when it was made available during adoration! It was so beautiful to see God’s mercy poured out onto His children. During men’s small group, we talked about ways to incorporate prayer into our daily lives, especially when we do not have a desire to pray. As missionaries, we felt so honored that God chose us in these moments to be His instrument of peace and love.
The day program began on Monday morning and we had a great, equally energetic bunch of kids! They were eager to serve in mass in many different ways. The kids brought up gifts, read, and altar served. The kids also really enjoyed singing songs and watching the skits! We had a lot of fun teaching about God and His perfect love for all of us. A highlight of our week was spending time with the families of this pastorate. We visited the beautiful St. Paul’s Church in Marty, went kayaking, got ice cream, and had a big potluck on Wednesday! Dante absolutely spoiled team two and it was such a blessing to get to know all the people in this community!
