Happy Week 4 from Team 1!
This week we were at St Mary’s and Christ the King in Sioux Falls! It was so much fun being in a pastorate with so many kiddos who had so much knowledge about the faith! It was a privilege to get to work with and to grow in community with these kids who were so excited to learn about the Lord and want to grow closer to Him.
We had the opportunity in our morning program (1st-6th graders) to bring the kiddos to adoration on Wednesday. We only went into the chapel for about 10 minutes so nobody got too stir-crazy, but we gave them the choice to stay there longer than that. That was ok. Everyone left after the 10-minute mark except for one boy. He remained in the chapel for a while, but as he was exiting the chapel, one of his friends came and was about to go in and pray with him. He gladly said they should go back and pray together, and they did for another 10 ish minutes, which is amazing, especially for 2 boys going into 4th grade. It was a beautiful testament to having holy friendships!
The same day, but in the afternoon with the older kids, (6th-12th graders) we again got to go to adoration. But this time it was for a whole hour. As Bryn was praying and entering into her hour, she remembered a time in training when we were taught that it was super important and powerful to intercede for the kids. Not just praying for them in the prayer team setting, but just praying over them while they’re encountering Jesus and His Love. So she started saying a rosary with specific intentions for the kids.
Afterward in small groups, we went around and shared some graces we received from adoration and one girl was very excited to share about what she experienced. It was exactly one of the things that Bryn prayed for. It was a beautiful way God showed us again that He wants us to be a part of how He loves His children.
It was such an amazing week! I can’t wait to see what else He has in store!
God bless, Team 1
