Hello from Team 1!
This week was spent in DeSmet, SD, and it was such a blast! We had so much fun getting to know and be a part of the wonderful community! There were so many good God moments that happened this week, which I am so thankful for. Especially coming off of back-to-back D Camps, where you get no sleep and sing Bessie the heifer at least twice a day, it was great to be at such an awesome parish with a beautiful community.
One reason that this week was great was getting to be with kids who were actively seeking a relationship with the Lord. They were so joyful, excited, and curious that it made it extra fun to be there and serve the community of DeSmet. With all of the different talks and testimonies, we have times where we break into small groups to discuss the topics and ask questions, it was incredible to hear all of the insights and understandings of everyone, we were able to learn from the kids in more ways than we could expect!
We had almost too much fun with games and activities like the water games with the day program kiddos, and having a bonfire, yard games like dead bug tag and marshmallow dodgeball! I’ve never heard of dead bug tag before DeSmet, but I can gladly tell you we will never forget it! Marshmallow dodgeball was so much fun, you’d be surprised at how throwable marshmallows are!
I can’t believe we only have two perished left! Thank you again so much for the prayers and good wishes!
