Catholic Community Foundation reaches many areas of the diocese

DID YOU KNOW? The Catholic Community Foundation for Eastern SD has six offices spread across our diocese? Offices are located in Aberdeen, Mitchell, Pierre, Sioux Falls, Watertown, and Yankton. Each is focused on drought proofing the ministries of their local and regional Catholic parishes, schools and our diocese. This is in an effort to reach all corners of our diocese and bring us together as one body of Christ. Our vision is to provide a “future full of hope” for the people of eastern South Dakota and beyond. Our mission is to help people grow deeper in love with Christ by sharing their gifts in gratitude to God. We do this by raising, managing and distributing God’s gifts to donor directed ministries. Visit our website to find out who your closest gift planning officer is and set up a meeting. They are happy to come to you! www.ccfesd.org

The Rescue Project

The Rescue Project is a parish program you might be interested in. From their website:

The Rescue Project is an exciting new initiative from Fr. John Riccardo and ACTS XXIX that will present the Gospel in a whole new way. As Christians, our most urgent task is the compelling proclamation of the gospel, one that not only shares it in an attractive – and concentrated – way, but that also offers people a way of seeing reality, and of making sense of the world, history, and life that is vastly different from the story our modern culture tells.

Until this happens, the Christian faith is often experienced as a mere set of rules and disciplines, and simply going to Church isn’t likely to lead a person to embark on the great adventure that is following Jesus and continuing His mission of the rescuing of this world.

  • Please check the Mass times listed for your parish on the diocesan website, sfcatholic.org. If you have updates for those times, please send those to Elise at ebenner@sfcatholic.org.
  • Additionally, please confirm that the website listed on your parish page on the diocesan website is correct. We have found a few that are incorrect addresses. If we need to update your website address, please send updates to Elise at ebenner@sfcatholic.org.

Catholic Family Sharing Appeal

Thank you to all for your wonderful support of the 2022 Catholic Family Sharing Appeal. Parishioners have responded with great generosity toward the many ministries supported by the appeal. To date, we have received 12,640 pledges totaling $5,049,000. Nearly 2/3 of the parishes have raised over and above the amount shared with the diocese providing an additional $764,000 to stay in the respective parish and be used where the need is greatest.

If you have remaining pledges to send in and enter into the ParishSoft Offering Module, please do so as soon as possible as we prepare for follow-up in the coming weeks. The follow-up is a great opportunity to connect with parishioners, so if you are planning to do this at the parish level, please let us know so we do not duplicate efforts.

Thank you again for your support as the success of the Catholic Family Sharing Appeal is dependent upon the great efforts of those at all of the parishes throughout the diocese.
