This week, Team 3 traveled to St. Nicholas Parish in Tea and St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Sioux Falls. It was such a fun week filled with laughter and love for the Lord! We were blessed with wonderful host families and delicious meals provided by generous parishioners.
In our morning program, we had about 36 students from grades 1-6. Throughout the week, we played lots of games, performed skits and talked about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Sharks and Minnows, Color Tag and Ships and Sailors were crowd favorites. One highlight of the week was Mass class on Monday where we took students into the church and gave them a little tour, pointing out important things. This provoked numerous thoughtful questions throughout the week as they encountered the person of the Holy Spirit in class and in the Mass.
During the night program, we had about 26 students from grades 7-12. They were a super fun bunch who never failed to make us laugh. Shout out to Father Andrew for taking us to B&G Milkyway for ice cream! On Wednesday night, we had adoration and confession, where many students took the opportunity to confess their sins and receive the Lord’s mercy. On Thursday, the weather was beautiful, so we got to have a bonfire and even played kickball! It was a blessing to be with the families and minister to the youth at SKD and St. Nicholas!
