This week, Team 3 traveled to the Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Watertown, which is part of the Ave Maria Pastorate. We had an amazing time and were received so generously! Our week was full of prayer, laughter, fellowship and delicious food. We were blessed to meet so many wonderful people from the pastorate.
Our morning program looked a little different this week as we joined the Pro Ecclesia Sancta sisters for Holy Kids Camp, which involved about 100 students. We learned songs and dances, participated in activities, memorized Scripture passages that paired with delicious themed snacks, learned about saints and played many games.
A highlight of the week for me was affirming each of the children as beloved sons and daughters as they learned to see themselves as God does through their “faith glasses.” I was overjoyed as their faces lit up when they discovered that they were God’s most precious gift! HUGE shout out to the Pro Ecclesia Sancta sisters for all of their efforts in planning for and leading a very successful Holy Kids Camp! We could not have done it without them and all of our awesome volunteers!
During the evening program, we had a very fun week full of laughter, talks, small groups and games. A highlight of the week for me was our relational ministry on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons where we were able to really spend time with the students having fun and getting to know them better. Another highlight was adoration on Wednesday night, where more than half of the students went to confession and spent time in prayer.
