Team 3 traveled to St. Benedict Parish in Yankton this week. We really enjoyed our week in Yankton! While it was a short week due to the Fourth of July, we had no shortage of fun. It was an awesome week thanks to the awesome youth in both our day and evening programs. We enjoyed a parish potluck and adoration on Tuesday night as well.
In our morning program, we had over 50 students each day. We shared many laughs, played lots of ultimate tag, and learned about all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We did a prayer activity every morning, which consisted of a Divine Mercy Chaplet, silent prayer time, adoration and Lectio Divina. The students were very reverent and enjoyed spending time with Jesus in the chapel. The weather was beautiful all week, so we also spent time outside for recess and games.
During the night program, we had a great group of students who were excited about their faith. We had talks, small groups, and prayer time each night providing opportunities for students to grow in relationship with God and in community with each other. Throughout the week, we were able to do relational ministry with some of the teens. On Monday, we got ice cream and on Wednesday, we played mini golf. On Wednesday night, we ate pizza and had a bonfire, while playing games and sharing in fellowship. It was an awesome week with a great group of students!
