This past week, Team 2 was in Ipswich at Holy Cross Parish, which is part of the Pastorate of the Visitation. It was our first time being in the northern part of the diocese and it was such a great experience! We got to teach the youth so much and have so much fun in Ipswich and the Aberdeen area.
Both the morning and evening program started July 21 since we had a long journey after our last D-Camp of the summer. We got to teach the morning program a lot about saints with two memorials this past week for St. Mary Magdalene and St. James. They also got to learn about the priests’ vestments and why each piece is significant. One young boy got to be vested along with Fr. Andrew Thuringer.
Our evening program was pretty lively as the week went on with numbers passing 15 by the end of the week. We taught a lot about prayer and how to have a relationship with the triune God. We played lots of fun games as well, including the mind-bending game “This is a Fork.” Adoration with these students was so beautiful for them as well!
We also got to spend a lot more time as a team outside of preparing and putting on the programs this week. The team made a trip to Aberdeen to Wiley Park and had a blast! Please keep Fr. Tim Cone in your prayers as he recovers from surgery. Thank you to everyone in Ipswich and Holy Cross Parish who supported us this past week!
