Mike Durfee State Prison (Springfield): Bible/theology study, Mass and chaplain visits
South Dakota Women’s Prison (Pierre): Bible study

Started in 1981 by Bishop Paul Dudley
A weekend retreat where the inmates participate in Mass, small group discussion, hear talks, sing, pray the Stations of the Cross, and share in fellowship
Retreats are typically held once per year at the State Penitentiary and Jameson Annex
We are working on starting these retreats back up in Springfield
Volunteers are always welcome

A Catholic group for men post-incarceration
(while on parole or having finished their sentence)
For men who desire to learn more about the Catholic faith upon their release and grow in fraternity

Each year, prison chaplains raise money to provide pre-packaged items for those incarcerated at the South Dakota State Penitentiary, Jameson Annex, Unit C, Springfield, Yankton Minimum Unit and the Minnehaha County Jail. Through the funds we raise, we also give money to a local group in Pierre that purchases their own Christmas sacks.
We collect donations from November to January.
We distribute the Christmas sacks the week leading up to Christmas
